Item 3 - Vote Requesting Funding for Special Project
Our Articles of Association limit the Board’s discretionary spending to $800 on any one project without first receiving Member approval. In 2017 the CLA launched “Preserving Paradise”, a guide book to our lake community circulated to members and available for purchase by non-members. The purpose of the Guide is to provide important information useful to our members, their guests, and potential new owners, which can only remain relevant with ongoing updates. Our team is actively engaged in updating the content of the guide, and we are preparing for the costs associated with printing and circulating these updates. The Board is asking for authority to spend up to $1,600 in the coming budget cycle. Based on our experience in the 2017 release, we anticipate that the full $1,600 will not be required as revenue from copies purchased by non-member households or families requesting additional copies will off-set the expenses. However, to conservatively plan for the project, we will are making this Motion to receive member approval for spending on this project.
