Kids in the Biosphere – Summer Program
From Ian Mead

As you know, the Township of the Archipelago has partnered with the Georgian Bay Biosphere Reserve and they are our Environmental department. Over the last few years, the GBBR has put together an amazing program called “Kids in the Biosphere”. I think a program such as this is invaluable to kids on the lake as we are going to rely on them to take our spots as lake stewards in the future.

I have volunteered to facilitate this program on Crane Lake this summer. As parents and grandparents I hope you will join me in getting our kids signed up for a summer of fun and learning. Please read below.

Kids in the Biosphere

Calling all kids on Crane Lake! Are you ready to explore this summer? Join Kids in the Biosphere for a summer full of adventures! Register online and receive a free activity kit to begin a summer of exploring. Earn points and prizes by participating in scavenger hunts, science experiments, helping species at risk, and more! There will be events to meet the experts and a blog to share fascinating facts and allow Georgian Bay Biosphere Reserve staff to answer questions, including identifying “mystery” species.
