Campfires and Fireworks Prohibited - Victoria Day Long Weekend 2021

Campfires and Fireworks Prohibited - Victoria Day Long Weekend 2021

As we head into the Victoria Day long weekend, please note the Fire Rating in the Township of the Archipelago (Crane Lake) has been elevated to “High” because of the dry conditions. Campfires and Fireworks are prohibited during this Rating. More specifically:

  • Although permitted on the Victoria Day holiday if the Fire Rating is Low or Moderate, setting off Fireworks is prohibited during a “High” Fire Rating. Conviction under this offence carries a fine of $425. Click here to link to the Fireworks By-law.

  • Campfires are not allowed during a “High” Fire Rating. Conviction under this offence carries a fine of $425. Click here to link to the Open Air Burning By-law.

The link to the Township of the Archipelago website is thearchipelago.on.ca. The current Fire Rating is always displayed on the website and clicking on it will take you to the Fire Rating Legend showing what is permitted and restricted under each Fire Rating.

Best wishes for an enjoyable, Blackfly-free, and safe long weekend.
