Keeping Fire Safety top-of-mind at the cottage is a great thing for everyone.  We all want to protect our cottages, our forest and our neighbours property too! 

Those are some of the reasons the Crane Lake Association has developed the Crane Lake Fire Safety Quiz.  We encourage all cottages to gather with their families, friends and lake guests and complete this quiz together; that way as many people as possible can benefit from discussing and learning about this important topic. Or why not challenge one another to the quiz and see who knows the most in your cottage!  

The online quiz can be accessed via the link below from now until Saturday July 31st @4pm.

Every CLA member cottager that successfully completes a quiz will be entered into a draw to win one of two brand new Fire Extinguishers for their cottage… because you can’t have enough fire extinguishers!

Fire Safety - AEDs on Crane Lake

As a member of the Crane Lake Association, you are likely aware of the 5 Fire pumps spread around the lake (6 including the one on the Fire Boat) which are available for cottagers to use in an emergency.

Did you also know that along with each fire pump there is a portable AED? What’s an AED you may ask?

The Crane Lake Association has developed a simple Fire Safety brochure which we suggest you print out and post in a prominent place in your cottage. This is a great refresher for owners and invaluable information for guests and cottage renters. As a bonus we’ve added Water Safety tips to this brochure as well.

Fire Notification List

Sign up for the Crane Lake Fire Notification List! When a 911 call is placed for a fire incident on Crane Lake, Seguin Fire Services is notified (who provide fire support to Crane Lake under a contract with the Township of the Archipelago). At the same time, a mass notification is sent out by a company called Northern911 to anyone who has signed up to receive these notifications.
